What if you could turn a wish into something you could hold?

Step into a warm, slightly witchy autumn evening of storytelling, reflection and making. Inspired by Slavic folk tradition, this workshop invites you to create your own Motanka: a symbolic doll made by wrapping, layering and knotting fabric, without sewing or needles.

Motanki have long been associated with wishes, protection and important moments in life. We’ll begin by sharing some of the folklore behind them, then take a little time to slow down and explore an intention that feels meaningful to you right now. You don’t need to arrive knowing what yours will be.

Then comes the making. Choose from fabrics, ribbons, yarns, herbs and natural materials to create a doll that is entirely your own. There’s no template to follow and no two Motanki are alike. It’s a tactile, absorbing process, with space to enjoy each choice as your doll takes shape.

Our first Motanka workshop received five-star feedback from all 10 participants:

“I loved every bit.”

“I did not know what to expect — and I am so glad I came!”

You’ll leave with your finished Motanka: something made by your hands, carrying a wish or intention that belongs to you.
